Effects of alumina micro-powder characteristics and dispersants on rheological properties of alumina slu-rries

氧化铝微粉的特性和分散剂对浆料流变特性的影响

Abstract:

Powder characteristics of three types of reactive alumina micro-powders,the pH value of saturated solutions,the variation of the Zeta potential with the pH value of the alumina suspensions and the rheological properties of the slurries with the a solid content of 50% were investigated.The correlation between the rheological properties of slurries and the powder characteristics was discussed by Herschel-Bulkley fitting of shear stress-shear rate curves and grey correlation analysis.Effects of three types of polycarboxylate dispersants on the rheological properties of the alumina slurries with the solid content of 50% were also studied.The results show that:(1)at low shear rates the slurry of the reactive alumina with the largest d50 and the widest particle size distribution presents the lowest shear stress and apparent viscosity;(2)according to the grey correlation degree analysis,the yield stress,the viscosity coefficient and the apparent viscosity of the reference slurries are highly correlated with pH and d10 of the micro-powders;however,the grey correlation degrees are lower than 0.9,which indicates that the rheological behavior is influenced by multi-factors;within the range of 1-100 s -1,the influence of the powder characteristics on the rheological properties of the slu-rries declines with the shear rate increasing;(3)among the three types of dispersants,pure and alumina-based polycarboxylate dispersants work better while the cement-based polyacrylate dispersant is less effective.

摘要:

研究了三种活性氧化铝微粉的粒度特性、饱和浸出液的pH、悬浊液Zeta电位随pH的变化、固含量50%(φ)的浆料的流变特性,并通过对切应力-切变速率曲线进行Herschel-Bulkley拟合和灰色关联度分析,探讨了浆料流变特性与微粉特性参数的关联性。还研究了三种聚羧酸盐型分散剂对固含量50%(φ)的浆料的流变特性的影响。结果表明:1)在低切变速率下,由d50最大、粒度分布范围最宽的微粉制得的浆料的切应力和表观黏度均最小。2)灰色关联度计算得出,参考浆料的屈服应力、黏度系数和表观黏度与微粉的pH和d10的关联度较大,但都没有达到0.9,表明浆料的流变特性受多因素共同影响;在1~100 s -1范围内,切变速率增大,氧化铝微粉特性参数对浆料流变特性的影响程度降低。3)三种分散剂中,无载体和以氧化铝为载体的聚羧酸盐型分散剂对活性氧化铝微粉浆料具有较好的分散效果,以水泥为载体的聚丙烯酸盐型分散剂的分散效果较差。
