Preparation of SiC ceramics by reaction sintering and their performance

反应烧结制备碳化硅陶瓷及其性能研究

Abstract:

Fine powder silicon carbide ceramics were prepared by reaction sintering using SiC powders(d50=3.6 μm,SiC≥98 mass%) as the main raw material,added with carbon black,graphite,water reducing agent and dispersing medium,well mixed,slip cast,dried at 80 ℃ and reaction sintered at 1 720 ℃.Effects of the stirring time (1-5 h) and the carbon black addition (5.62%-6.93%,by mass) on properties of green bodies were researched,and the microstructure of the green bodies and the fired specimens was researched.The results show that the physical properties of the product added with graphite are improved obviously,the optimal addition of carbon black is 5.94%,the maximum bulk density of the sintered specimen is 3.02 g·cm-3,and the bending strength can reach 580 MPa.

摘要:

以全细粉碳化硅(d50=3.6 μm、w(SiC)≥98%)为主要原料,加入炭黑、石墨、减水剂和分散介质等混合均匀后注浆成型,80 ℃烘干并于1 720 ℃反应烧结制备全细粉碳化硅陶瓷材料。考察了搅拌时间1~5 h、炭黑加入质量分数5.62%~6.93%对素坯性能的影响,并对素坯及烧后试样微观结构进行表征。结果表明:添加石墨所得试样的物理性能明显改善,炭黑的最佳添加量为5.94%(w),烧后试样的体积密度最大为3.02 g·cm-3,抗弯强度可达580 MPa。
