Effect of reactive MgO addition on properties of corundum-spinel castables

Abstract: In order to improve the properties of corundum-spinel castables,corundum-spinel castables were prepared using reactive MgO as a binder and tabular corundum,reactive alumina micropowder,and aluminum lactate as the main raw materials.The effects of the reactive MgO addition (1%,3%,5%,and 7%,by mass,respectively) on the physical properties and slag resistance of the corundum-spinel castables were studied.Combined with the changes in the microstructure and phase composition,the influence mechanism of the reactive MgO addition on the properties was analyzed.The results show that:(1)the strength of the castables after curing and drying increases with the increase of the reactive MgO addition,while the apparent porosity shows a downward trend,(2)after the heat treatment at 1 600 ℃,the strength of the castables decreases with the increase of the reactive MgO addition,the permanent linear change on heating gradually increases,the slag corrosion resistance of the castables weakens,and the slag penetration resistance first enhances and then weakens,(3)when the reactive MgO addition is 3%,the reactive MgO-bonded corundum-spinel castables exhibit the best overall performance.

摘要: 为提高刚玉-尖晶石质浇注料的性能,以活性MgO为结合剂,板状刚玉、活性氧化铝微粉和乳酸铝为主要原料,制备了刚玉-尖晶石质浇注料,研究了活性MgO加入量(加入质量分数分别为1%、3%、5%和7%)对刚玉-尖晶石质浇注料物理性能及抗渣性能的影响,结合显微结构和物相组成变化,分析了活性MgO加入量对其性能影响机制。结果表明:1)浇注料养护和干燥后的强度随活性MgO加入量的增加而增加,而显气孔率呈下降趋势。2)经1 600 ℃热处理后,浇注料的强度随着活性MgO加入量的增加而降低,加热永久线变化逐渐增大,浇注料的抗渣侵蚀性能减弱,抗渣渗透性能呈先增强后减弱的趋势。3)当活性MgO加入量为3%(w)时,活性MgO结合刚玉-尖晶石质浇注料表现出最佳的综合性能。
