Effect of sintering temperature on properties of mullite materials prepared with various crystalline alumina micropowders

烧结温度对不同晶型氧化铝微粉制备莫来石材料性能的影响

Abstract:

Mullite samples were prepared using various crystalline alumina micropowders (α-Al2O3,ρ-Al2O3 and γ-Al2O3) as the aluminum source,mixing with kyanite,adding polyvinyl alcohol,pressing,and heat treating at different temperatures (1 300,1 400,1 500 and 1 600 ℃).Their properties were studied.The results show that the solid phase reaction of the sample with α-Al2O3 as the aluminum source is the most complete after sintering at 1 600 ℃,and the main phases are mullite and zirconia.When the aluminum source is α-Al2O3,the obtained samples have higher bulk density,lower apparent porosity and higher compressive strength.

摘要:

以α-Al2O3、ρ-Al2O3和γ-Al2O3微粉3种不同晶型的氧化铝为铝源,与蓝晶石混合,加入聚乙烯醇压制成型,在不同热处理温度下(1 300、1 400、1 500和1 600 ℃)制备了莫来石试样,并研究了不同晶型氧化铝与蓝晶石制备莫来石材料的性能。结果表明:以α-Al2O3为铝源的试样在 1 600 ℃烧后的固相反应最完全,其主要物相为莫来石和氧化锆。并且当铝源为α-Al2O3时,制备出的试样具有较高的体积密度、较低的显气孔率和较高的耐压强度。
